TERROR ATTACK ON MUMBAI Terror: The Aftermath

advertisement

The attack on Mumbai is over. After the numbing sorrow comes the blame
game and the solutions. Loud voices amplified by saturation TV: Why
don't we amend our Constitution to create new anti-terror laws? Why
don't we arm our police with AK 47s? Why don't we do what Israel did
after Munich or the USA did after 9/11 and hot pursue the enemy?
Solutions that will lead us further into the abyss. For terror is a
self-fulfilling prophecy. It thrives on reaction, polarization,
militarization and the thirst for revenge.

Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

well we don't need to create a new anti-terror law because

We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect Union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to our selves and our prosperity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

In this preamble it covers all the laws we need to combat terrorism.

we have not had a president sense Ronald Reagan who was willing to battle terrorism. Here is how he dealt with it.

When our citizens are abused or attacked anywhere in the world on the direct orders of a hostile regime, we will respond so long as I'm in this Oval Office. Self defence is not only our right, it is our duty. It is the purpose behind the mission under taken tonight, a mission fully consistent with Article 5I of the United Nations Charter.

I warned that there should be no place on earth where terrorist can rest and train and practice their deadly skills.I meant it. I said that we would act with others, if possible, AND ALONE IF NECESSARY  to ensure that terrorist have NO SANCTUARY ANYWHERE.

So what we need is a leader that has a set (balls) and is willing to protect the American people and not worry about what other countries think.
